JACOB GUERCIO | Senior Business Analyst and HSE Consultant

Jacob is a senior level Business Analyst with over 20 years of experience in the IT industry. His particular areas of expertise include requirements analysis, facilitation, GAP Analysis, Business Process Management and design, GeoSpatial (GIS) analysis, COTS/software integration, Citrix/VMWare projects and Project Management.

Jacob’s clients have included organizations in the both private sector as well as at all three levels of government. Some of his high profile projects have included the development of a national spatial forest inventory database, the business analysis of a large scale municipal transportation pavement management tool, a multi-national enterprise HSQ software implimentation (DNV Synergi) and the development of a contract management health and safety business processes in the oil and gas, and utilities sector. Jacob is also highly versed in areas such as UAT/Testing Strategies, training strategies, UML/Use Cases, and web based applications.

Jacob also has over 6 years of Health and Safety experience facilitating THA studies, incident investigation, program building, and now auditing. Jacob is also an Alberta Safety Council Certified External Auditor.

JOHN SIMON | Senior Quality Auditor

John has a B.Sc. from the University of Alberta, and is a Senior Member of the American Society for Quality, Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) through the American Society for Quality; Regulatory Affairs Certification (RAC) through the Regulatory Affairs Professional Society; and RQAP-GLP certification through the Society of Quality Assurance. He has held a series of management positions in Quality Assurance and Regulatory Affairs and also work as a consultant.

John has had a variety of experience being directly involved in FDA and Health Canada Audits in the areas of Medical Device Manufacturing, Drug Manufacturing and Testing, Drug and Device Establishments and Clinical Trial sites. Over the years he has gained experience with biologics, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, dietary supplements/natural health products and cosmetic ingredients. John also has experience with a number of submissions to Health Canada and the FDA.

MARIANNE HANG | PMO Lead, Senior Project and Program Manager

Marianne is a Project Management Office (PMO) Lead with over 24 years of experience in effective project management, program management, portfolio management, and PMO development. She has contributed to successful implementation of new technology and new business processes in the IT, education, oil and gas, health care, research, government, tourism, and utilities industries. Marianne specializes in management, coaching, mentorship, relationship building, PMO development, governance, project rescue, documentation / reporting / metrics, and financials - all of which are key to the realization of measurable benefits defined for any initiative, as well as for organizations as a whole. Marianne offers the following experience and expertise:

CHRIS PRAESTEGAARD | Senior HSE Consultant

Chris has 28 years of experience in the risk management discipline as a program developer, process auditor, seminar presenter and facilitating consultant. Currently Chris is certified as an external auditor for the Partnerships health and safety audit protocol approved by the Alberta Safety Council and the Alberta Association of Safety Partners.

He has experience as a Quality Assurance Manager where he developed and implemented ISO 9001 quality assurance management systems for a variety of companies in Western Canada. Chris has developed a variety of training and education programs for entry- and advanced-level positions in different types of operations. He has experience in providing training for conducting hazard assessments, incident / accident investigation, supervisor workshops and quality management processes. Chris has also developed risk management process controls and procedure manuals for concurrent drilling operations for major oil and gas companies and as set of Environment, Health and Safety auditing protocols for major international oil drilling companies.

Previous PSM related certifications / affiliations: PITS / Enform External H&S Auditor from 1994 to 2010. Alberta Forest Products Association from 2000 to 2007, Contract ISO 9001 training course instructor for BSI Canada 2006 – 2007.

KEVIN BRUCE | Senior HSE Consultant

Kevin has over 20 years experience in developing Corporate Environment, Health and Safety Programs, Process Safety Management Programs, Corporate Emergency Response Plans. Since the inception of Peak Safety in 2006, Kevin has also taken on the role of Corporate EHS and ER Co-ordinator for several organizations in the Oil/Gas, Waste Management and Chemical Industries.

The primary focus of Peak Safety is to provide a variety of risk management and risk assessment services including Process Hazard Analysis (HAZOP and What-if? Etc.) facilitation, residual risk assessments, job hazard assessments, aspect and impact assessments, site and concern specific assessments and post-incident reviews that focus on risk reduction.

Kevin also conducts corporate management and process system audits for organizations within Canada and internationally. Recent projects have included developing and verifying program compliance to ISO 14001 and OHSAS18001 (BSI 8800). Training services in safety management, hazard assessment, process safety, regulatory compliance, incident command, rescue techniques, emergency response, high angle rescue, and crisis management are available.

As an environmental engineering technologist, Kevin can also assist you with site assessments, site remediation projects, dispersion modelling, spill response, and indoor air quality investigations.
